A young woman killed in a horror car accident on the A10 has been named as 25-year-old Tania Macedo.
The devastating three-vehicle collision happened near Broad Baulk, in between Little Thetford and Stretham, at around 7.45pm last night (Wednesday).
Tania, of Welland Place, Ely, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tania was a front seat passenger in a blue Honda Civic, which was being driven by a 43-year-old man from the Ely area.
He suffered a serious but not life threatening injury, according to police, who said the man had been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through either drink or drugs.
A 3-year-old girl was in the back of the vehicle at the time and also suffered a serious but not life threatening injury.
The child was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where she remains.
The other vehicles involved in the collision were a blue Renault Megane and a silver Volvo.
The driver of the Volvo, a 34-year-old man, was uninjured.
Two passengers in the vehicle, a 38-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy, both from the Ely area, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Renault, a second 43-year-old man, was uninjured.
A police spokesman said the arrested man remained in custody at Parkside police station, Cambridge.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the accident, or anyone with any information, to call Sgt Paul Tanner on 101.
