Tributes have been paid to a teenage girl who died suddenly at the weekend.

Emergency services, including the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), were called to a house in High Street, Soham, just after 10.30pm on Sunday.

They arrived to find a teenage girl had suffered a cardiac arrest following a medical incident.

Sadly, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman for the EAAA said: “Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all those at the scene, the patient was declared deceased.

“Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this sad and difficult time.”

The death of the girl, who has not yet been formally identified by police, has left families in the Soham area devastated.

Paying tribute to her on Facebook, Nicola Groganator said: “So, so sad – thinking of her family and friends xxx.”

Leona Shanks said: “Very sad news. RIP.”

Tracey Gilbey said: “So sad. Condolences to her family. Sleep well little girl xx.”

Joy Reynolds said: “Thinking of all family and friends at this incredibly sad time. Another angel taken too soon.”

And Emma J Long wrote: “Another young life taken way too soon, RIP. May you fly with the angels. Sending condolences to the family and all those concerned x.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed that they too attended the incident and that the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We were called to reports of the sudden death of a teenage girl at an address in Soham at 10.45pm on Sunday.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and has been passed to the coroner.”
