Primary school staff and pupils got a shock when they discovered debris from a suspected UFO on their school playing field.
But there was no need to panic as it had been arranged deliberately to add a bit of extra fun to the curriculum.
To celebrate Creative Writing Week, the ‘UFO debris’ was scattered on the playing field at Robert Arkenstall Primary School in Haddenham and pupils from every year group had to try and get to the bottom of where it had come from.
Head teacher Robert Arkenstall said: “The children are still looking for evidence. They are writing reports, letters to extra terrestrial beings and stories based on the strange happenings.
“We will continue to search the skies and if any strange beings turn up we will make them very welcome.
“It’s been great fun and has really sent their imaginations wild, which is certainly a good thing when it comes to creative writing.”
