A charity which supports women in the Ely area has received a donation of almost 100 packs of nappies.

Ely Pregnancy Information Centre (EPIC), based at the lighthouse centre in Ely, offers support with unplanned pregnancies, post abortion and is able to provide help to new parents.

Ely’s Sainsbury’s store has been able to donate almost 100 packs of its own brand nappies thanks to a promotion where customers donated the free nappies they received with their purchases.

Margaret Cornell, who runs EPIC, said: “We are so grateful for local businesses such as Sainsbury’s and the generous public who donate to us.

“We work entirely through donations, fundraising and volunteers, and are able to support local families through this.”

Kiddykit, the charity’s baby group, runs drop-in sessions at the Lighthouse Centre every Tuesday from 1-2.30pm.
