Volunteer drivers for East Cambs Social Car Scheme are recognised for their dedication

Written byJORDAN DAY

Volunteers who help those less able than themselves get from A to B have been recognised for their dedication.

To mark Volunteers Week this week, Voluntary and Community Action East Cambridgeshire (VCAEC) awarded 12 of its volunteers with certificates and vouchers to thank them for their hard work.

The majority of presentations were made to volunteer drivers for the East Cambs Social Car Scheme, which is run from the organisation’s offices in Forehill, Ely.

Among the recipients were Jean Richardson, Keith Dorling, Terry Staines, Sandra McCarthy and Alma Wayman, all of whom have been volunteers with the scheme for more than 10 years each.
