Trio's 1,000-mile cycle ride raises over £5,000 for charities

Written byJORDAN DAY

Three friends have raised more than £5,000 for two children’s charities by cycling the length of the country.

Richard Marley, 50, Michael Sheridan, 50, and Mark Shirley, 40, who all live in Ely, successfully completed their Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle ride in just 12 days.

They took on the gruelling challenge to raise money for Blue Smile and Ormiston, both of which support children in Cambridgeshire.

They have raised more than £5,000 and have thanked people for their “amazing generosity”.
