Residents burnt off some post-Christmas calories while learning a little bit of history too.

Oliver Cromwell House in Ely hosted ‘Christmas Combination Tours’ on December 27 and 28.

The walks, which were well attended on both days, saw people being given guided tours around Ely, as well as tours around the historic house by characters in costume.

A spokesman for Ely’s tourist information centre said: “Our Christmas Combination Tours were well attended on both days and we were really pleased.

“People were given a tour around the city where they were not only able to enjoy the sights and sounds but also learn more about Ely’s history and heritage.

“Once back at Oliver Cromwell House they then enjoyed a coffee and a pastry before being given a tour around the house with a guide in costume.

“They certainly learnt a lot and had fun too.”

More guided walks are being launched at the house in February.
