SLIDESHOW: Christmas fair raises over £400 for Danny, 2

Festive fun at a popular pub has raised more than £400 for a little boy in need.

The Five Miles From Anywhere No Hurry Inn, in Upware, threw open its doors for a bumper Christmas fair on Sunday.

Lorraine Nichols, its landlady, organised the event to raise money for 2-year-old Danny Pickard and his family.

Danny was born with CHARGE syndrome, which has left him profoundly deaf.

His parents, Helen and Paul Pickard, from Burwell, are trying to raise £65,000 to fund an Auditory Brain Stem Implant - the only way Danny will ever be able to hear.

The fair, which Helen and Danny attended, raised around £430 for the family, with money still coming in.

Lorraine said: “We had a good day and it was great that Helen and Danny were able to come along.

“We had lots of stalls and Santa made a visit which was nice.”
