SLIDESHOW: Children's play area in Soham is given a new lease of life

Written byJORDAN DAY

An army of families donned their gloves and grabbed their brooms to help spruce up a popular children’s play area.

The huge clean-up was held at the play area on Soham Recreation Ground last Thursday.

The operation, organised by Hamish Ross, who lives in the town and is standing for the Conservatives in next week’s Soham by-election, saw residents of all ages coming together to clean and tidy the area.

Soham’s firefighters also attended to help out and give the facilities a thorough hose down.

Mr Ross said: “Everyone pulled their weight and we all had a great time! Brushes, shovels and elbow grease were the order of the day - from young‘uns to not so young‘uns, we all worked up a sweat.”

Coloured bunting has also been put up around the play area.
