A major police investigation is underway after a cash box was snatched from a security guard outside a bank today (Tuesday).

The G4S security guard was outside Lloyds Bank in Churchgate Street, Soham, when he was approached by two males.

The men snatched the cash box from him before fleeing on a motorbike.

The incident happened at around 12.45pm.

It is not known how much cash was in the box at the time.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police said a police hunt had been launched to locate the two men.

A spokesman for Lloyds Bank said the organisation was assisting police with their investigation.

He was unable to confirm how much money was stolen.
