Richard Rowe is Ely's newest on-call firefighter

Richard Rowe is Ely’s newest firefighter.

Richard, 24, has joined the crews as an on-call fireman.

During the day, he is a full-time sales assistant for a local plumbing suppliers. Richard is a self-confessed Liverpool Football Club fan and has played football for Mepal.

Richard is one of seven new on-call firefighters in the county and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is currently recruiting more.

On-call firefighters have to be aged 18 and over, have a good level of fitness and live or work within five minutes of an on-call fire station.
