Prospective parents interested in sending their children to Ely’s new primary school are being invited to a special presentation evening.

The Department for Education (DfE) chose the Active Learning Trust to set up and run the new school, which will be built in the north of Ely and is due to take its first Reception pupils in September 2014.

As previously reported, for its first year the school will operate from Ely St Mary’s Junior School, in High Barns, before moving to permanent accommodation in September 2015.

The presentation evening is being held at St Mary’s Junior School on Tuesday, January 7 from 7-9pm and will give parents the opportunity to meet representatives from the Active Learning Trust, and to talk to admissions officers from Cambridgeshire County Council in advance of the national closing date for applications on January 15.
