One thousand solar panels could be erected on land at a property in Coveney.

East Cambridgeshire District Council has received plans for the ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to be installed in the corner of a field at Frogs Abbey in West Fen.

The applicant, Andrew King, wants 1,000 panels in total.

In a statement to the council, his agents said: “The solar PV array will be situated away from the public highway and will not be obviously visible to other local residences other than the applicant’s property.”

A decision is expected within eight weeks.
