Planning appeal launched after mobile home park extension is rejected

An appeal has been launched after plans to extend a mobile home park in Littleport were refused.

It was in April last year that the Birch’s Group applied for planning permission to extend its existing site, Hyde Park, located in Padnal, into a further three acres of land, allowing almost 40 new mobile homes to be built.

But following objections from nearby residents, the proposals for land north east of Rijon, Padnal, were rejected by East Cambridgeshire District Council.

Residents said the extension would spoil the “peace and quiet” of Hyde Park and affect people’s safety.

The Birch’s Group has now lodged an appeal against the decision with the Secretary of State.

Residents have until July 24 to have their say.
