An award-winning oil and gas company has celebrated moving into its new headquarters in Ely.
Oil and Gas Systems Ltd, a firm which designs and manufactures process and metering systems for the oil, gas and power industries, has made the short move from Gemini House to its new state-of-the-art facilities at Denmark House, based in St Thomas Place.
To mark the move, and the fact the company is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Lucy Frazer QC, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for South East Cambridgeshire, joined managing director Steve O’Donnell for an official opening ceremony on Wednesday, which included presentations, a prize draw, canapes and tours.
Denmark House used to be home to Thermofisher but when the business re-located, Oil and Gas Systems Ltd bought it in 2012 for £1.2 million.
The major extension and refurbishment has already created almost 40 new jobs and will create up to 80 in total.
The firm said: “This modern and spacious office is the ideal environment to continue our growth and development plans and will be the home of all members of the group of companies that form Oil and Gas Holdings Limited.
“We look forward to welcoming our clients and our suppliers in our new home.”
