No foul play in sudden death of woman in Lisle Lane, Ely, police confirm

A woman died after falling down a flight of stairs at a house in Ely.

Emergency services and forensic investigators were called to a property in Lisle Lane just after 3pm on Friday and arrived to find a woman, aged in her 40s, had fallen down stairs.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “The woman had fallen down a flight of stairs at the property. Sadly, she died as paramedics arrived.”

Police officers remained at the scene throughout Friday and Saturday.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Police said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and the matter has been passed to the coroner.”

An inquest is yet to be opened.
