New landlord and lady for Soham pub

Written byJORDAN DAY

Meet the new landlord and landlady of The Carpenters Arms in Soham.

Matt Killick, 45, has bought the freehold of the Brook Street pub from his mum and dad, Allan and Jennifer, who have run the popular drinking hole since 1987.

They have decided to retire and Matt and his partner, Alison Seymour, 41, will now be running the pub.

Matt, who has lived in Soham all his life, said: “The pub has been a big part of my life and it seemed like the obvious thing to do when mum and dad decided they were going to retire.

“We’re looking forward to running the pub and will be introducing a few more modern twists over the coming months, including a revamp in the near future.”

An event is being held at the pub on Saturday, November 30 to celebrate the takeover.

London-based singer Christie Harrison will be entertaining the crowds at the event, which kicks off at 7pm. There will also be a hog roast.
