Motorcyclist injured in collision with lorry on A142

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries when he was involved in a collision with a lorry.

Emergency services were called to the accident on the A142 Witchford Road, Ely, at around 10.10pm last night (Thursday).

The incident happened close to the entrance to Paradise Farm.

Cambridgeshire Police and the East of England Ambulance Service attended and the motorcyclist was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

A police spokeswoman said the motorcyclist suffered “serious but not life threatening” injuries.

It is believed the driver of the lorry escaped uninjured.

The road was closed in both directions as a result of the accident.
