Mepal resident Ernie Barlow has helped to raise more than £800 for the Lisa Barnes Memorial Fund.

Ernie, of Laurel Close, organised a garden fete to raise money for the charity but due to poor weather the activities had to be moved from his garden to the village hall.

The change of plan failed to dampen the spirits and villagers enjoyed a barbecue, stalls, raffle, live entertainment and cakes galore.

The fete raised £888 and is one of a number of events Ernie has organised in aid of the fund.
