Man who fell from ladder in Ely refuses treatment

A man fell approximately 20ft from a ladder in Ely today (Thursday) but escaped without serious injury.

Emergency services were called to the city’s Riverside area after a man in his 40s fell from a ladder.

The incident happened at around 12pm.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “The incident happened near to the river in Ely.

“We sent one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle to the scene.

“The man actually refused treatment and was left in the care of his family.

“It appears he certainly had a lucky escape.”
