Littleport Library to temporarily close for 'essential roof repairs'

Written byJORDAN DAY

Littleport Library is being temporarily shut in order for repairs to be carried out to its roof.

Cambridgeshire County Council says that due to the “essential repairs”, the library will be closed from Monday, July 7 until Monday, September 1.

A council spokesman said: “Young People Littleport (adjacent to the library) have kindly agreed that library customers may use their computer suite free of charge during the period of closure.

“All children must be accompanied by an adult for their safety as there is no supervision. A book drop box for returned library books will be available in the IT suite and will be emptied regularly by library staff.

“We apologise to all customers and thank you all for your patience.”

The council is also organising a programme of mobile library visits to the village, including to The Barn, Beech Court, Anchor Court, New Orchard Park and Littleport Community Primary School car park.
