Written byJORDAN DAY

Football fans can get into the spirit of the World Cup by taking part in a charity human table football contest.

The Atrium Club, in Newnham Street, Ely, is organising the bumper event to not only celebrate the World Cup but also raise much-needed funds for children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.

The event is being held at Ely City Football Club on Sunday, June 22 and will consist of teams of five players.

A spokeswoman for The Atrium said: “We’re looking for people of all ages and abilities to take part in our human table football competition.

“Families, friends, businesses and organisations can take part – it’ll be great fun plus you’ll be helping to raise money for CLIC Sargent.

“We are asking teams to make a £10 donation to enter. All money raised through registration will go directly to the children’s charity.

“There will be loads of other things going on for the whole family, including a bouncy assault course, bungee run, face painting and much more.”

The event is running from 10am-3pm.
