A team from Ely are set to climb Mount Snowdon this weekend in memory of a much missed man from Isleham.

Daniel Walsh, 49, died of cancer in April. In his memory, a five-strong team are set to climb Mount Snowdon to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support in his honour.

Daniel, who was the service manager of the CHS group’s Ely Young People’s Project, has inspired Shellie Burke, Imisaba Ozkul, Sam Vaughan and Yannick Auckland from the CHS group, and Angela Parmenter from East Cambridgeshire District Council, to complete the climb.

Yannick said: “Everyone is excited but nervous as we are not the fittest people on the whole.

“We’ve been doing squats and lunges as it’s hard to train somewhere so flat.”
