Delay over decision on contentious Mepal motocross park plans

Written byJORDAN DAY

A decision on contentious plans to expand a motocross park will not be made until the spring.

It was last October when F-15 MX applied to Fenland District Council to develop Block Fen Drove in Mepal so that they could host motocross racing 114 days a year.

Their plans, which include new facilities for both motocross racing and motorcycle riding, have proved contentious among local residents and organisations, and a decision was due to be made on February 14.

However, planners at the district council have now pushed that back to May 7 over “outstanding issues relating to site plans and details, highways, noise pollution control and other environmental impacts”.
