Crop fire in Swaffham Bulbeck started deliberately

A crop fire in Swaffham Bulbeck was started deliberately, the fire service have said.

A fire crew and a water carrier from Newmarket were called to a field off Swaffham Heath Road in Swaffham Bulbeck at 3.01pm yesterday afternoon.

They arrived to find three one tonne bales and crops next to the highway alight.

Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish the fire and returned to their stations by 4.55pm.
