Written byJORDAN DAY

Talented artists and crafts people are showcasing their work in Ely in the run up to Christmas.

The Babylon Gallery, in Waterside, is hosting a huge festive exhibition called ‘Art Unwrapped’.

Everything from contemporary art to original gifts are on show, and sale, at the event, which is running until Sunday, December 8.

Dozens of local artists and craftsmen and women are taking part including Carol Banks, Kate Vogler and Barbara Grafton, to name just a few.

Christine Pike, from the gallery, said: “Every year this is the show we look forward to the most.

“There are so many talented makers and designers in this region that it is hard to choose a favourite.

“We have selected work which will make beautiful and original gifts for discerning art lovers, from stocking fillers to major ‘must haves’, from just £5 up to around £250.”

Entry to the exhibition, which is open from 12-4pm everyday, is free.
