Cheers! New beer created to celebrate Ely micropub's first birthday

Ely’s Liberty Belle Micropub is celebrating its first birthday – and a new beer has been created to mark the milestone.

Martin McKeever says he has always wanted the micropub, in Forehill, to boast its own beer.

The new tipple, called Liberty Belle Penguin Ale, is brewed at Two Rivers Brewery in Denver, near Downham Market, and is being officially launched at the micropub this Saturday.

Martin said: “It seemed like the perfect way to celebrate our first birthday and it’s something I’ve always wanted Liberty Belle to have.

“It’s a lovely, light, summery beer and I’m confident people will love it.”

The new beer is being launched at a party night at the micropub on Saturday from 8pm onwards.
