The cast of one of Ely’s fast-approaching pantomimes have taken to the city’s streets to promote it.

CAT - Ely’s longest running theatre companies - is staging the much-loved fairytale Cinderella as its 2013 pantomime.

Performances are being held from Thursday, December 12 through to Saturday, December 14 at Ely College, in Downham Road.

The group has been lucky enough to receive donations from local charity Ely XT as well as a donation of £450 from the City of Ely Council which will help them to continue to provide low-priced entertainment in the city.

A spokeswoman for CAT said: “With direction from Becky Green and musical direction from Maria McElroy, this year’s rags to riches show, written by Richard Gauntlett, will provide a vibrant mix of traditional fairytale and popular culture.

“Colourful costumes, toe-tapping tunes and the obligatory slapstick humour, our production of Cinderella will not disappoint and will kick start the Christmas season with a bang.”

Performances are being held at 7.30pm each night, plus there will be a 2.30pm matinee performance on the Saturday.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £5 for children.

For tickets, visit Burrows Bookshop in Ely’s High Street Passage, call (01353) 669759 or visit www.cately.ticketsource.co.uk.
