Car torched by arsonists in early hours

Arsonists set fire to a car in Witcham in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Gravel Drove and found the vehicle well alight.

One fire crew from Sutton attended the blaze just after 3.25am.

A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish the fire and returned to their stations by 4.25am.

“The cause of the fire was deliberate.

“Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
