A man who died when his car collided with a tractor on Saturday has been named by police.

Daniel Moden, of Main Street, Welney, died at the scene of the crash on the A1101, between the junctions for the A10 and B1100 New Road in Welney, near Littleport.

The 29-year-old had been treated at the scene by Magpas Helimedix’s helicopter team following a call at 11.35am

The driver of the tractor did not suffer any injuries.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokeswoman said: “We would ask anyone with information about the incident to contact Sgt Gareth Williams at the collision investigation unit on 101.”

The crash resulted in long queues on the A1101 on Saturday as the road was closed in both directions.
