A drop-in cafe has been set up in Ely - and man’s best friend takes the limelight at it.

The K9 Cafe has been launched at the Ely Cathedral Centre, on Palace Green, by local charity, the K9 Project.

Chris Kent, the charity’s founder, said: “We set the drop-in cafe up for a variety of reasons.

“It not only acts as a meeting place for local people who own dogs but also a meeting place for our volunteers.

“We welcome anyone who feels a little bit isolated or alone and who wants to meet new people in relaxed surroundings.

“There are always dogs at the cafe so if you don’t own a dog but want doggy cuddles now and again it really is the perfect place to come.

“We’re also here to help with any dog related advice or help you need.

“Things are going really well so far and I’d like to thank the cathedral centre for being so supportive.

“It’d be great to see lots of new faces at the drop-in and of course dogs - but only if they’re friendly!”

The K9 Cafe is held every Thursday from 10am-12pm. Call Chris on 07990 504994.
