A man’s hopes of running an alcohol sales business from the garage at his home have been dashed.

Damian Trojak of Woodfen Road, Littleport, applied to East Cambridgeshire District Council for permission to sell alcohol 24 hours a day, seven days a week from his garage.

He said the garage would be for the storage of alcohol only, and that all alcohol sales would be via the internet, telephone or using a ‘take away’ service.

But his application has been refused following concerns from environmental health officers, local police officers and councillors.

It was refused by the council’s licensing sub-committee on Friday.
