Two local charities are hundreds of pounds better off thanks to a school’s sell-out concert.
More than 200 people enjoyed King’s Ely’s charity concert last month, which featured performances by the King’s Ely Barbers, the Minstrels and the Spikes Cello Group, to name just a few.
The concert raised £1,106 in total, which has been split equally between Ely Foodbank and the Ely Community Service Committee (ECSC), which runs the city’s Old Dispensary community centre.
The funds will allow Ely Foodbank to continue to help people in East Cambridgeshire who are in need.
ECSC says it will use the donation to continue providing for local societies, community groups and other services which are able to hire the centre, in St Mary’s Street, for just £17 for three hours.
