Bosses at one of the UK’s biggest potato merchants got to meet French celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli.

Littleport-based firm Isle of Ely Produce sponsored the National Fish & Chip Awards 2014’s ‘From Field to Frier’ prize for the second year running.

The awards ceremony was hosted by the Michelin award-winning chef at the prestigious Lancaster London Hotel on January 22.

The winner was The Boundary Market Deeping fish and chip shop.

John Boutwood, managing director of Isle of Ely Produce, said: “The national fish and chip awards are the Oscars of the fish and chip industry.

“To be a sponsor was again an honour and is a way to show our commitment to our customers.”
