A night of singing and line dancing has raised more than £2,000 for a cancer charity.

Mark Smith, owner of Simply Flowers florists in Ely’s Market Street, organised and hosted the charity line dance event on October 19.

More than 100 people attended the fundraiser at Upwell Village Hall and a total of £2,023 was raised.

Mark said: “Anybody who knows me knows that I enjoy a good sing-a-long at any line dance social, but this time I attempted to “sing in tune” duetting with Richard Palmer live on stage.

“My singing abilities leave much to be desired so it was a great challenge, and, if nothing else - a bit of a laugh to those listening.

“A fantastic, fun evening was had by all and we managed to raise an amazing £2,023 for Cancer Research UK.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their support on the night.”
