An elderly cockatiel which sings the McDonalds theme tune, ‘I’m Lovin’ It’, has gone missing.
Bob, with his shiny grey plumage and bright orange cheeks, is Patricia Robinson’s pride and joy.
Mrs Robinson, 79, has owned him for around 15 years, since getting him as a tiny chick, and has even taught him to sing and chirp numerous tunes, including the catchy McDonalds theme song, I’m Lovin’ It.
But Bob has gone missing from his home in Honeysuckle Close, Soham, and the hunt is now on to find him.
Toni Robinson, Mrs Robinson’s daughter-in-law, said: “Nobody knows what on earth has happened but it seems that Bob has escaped from the house.
“Patricia went out for just a short period of time and when she came home he had gone.
“It’s really out of character for him as he has always been allowed to fly around the house freely and has never got out before.
“She says none of the windows were left undone so the only thing that we can think has happened is that he followed her out the door when she left.”
Toni said: “Patricia’s absolutely devastated.
“He went missing on June 10 and nobody has seen him since.
“He’s 15-years-old and she’s had him since he was a baby so obviously he’s well loved and she wants him back.
“He’s a grey-coloured male cockatiel with bright orange cheeks and he’s very friendly so I would imagine he would be pretty easy to catch if he was in someone’s garden or shed.
“He also sings the McDonalds theme tune so obviously if anyone hears that while out and about then we would urge them to try and track him down.
“I have been scouring the internet for cockatiels which have been found and there have not been any in the Soham area, although I called a couple of the numbers just to double check it was not Bob.
“We just desperately want him back and would urge everyone in the Soham area to check their gardens and outbuildings.
“We are even offering a small reward for his safe return.
“Patricia’s neighbours know that Bob has gone missing so they are keeping an eye out for us too.
“We just hope he is okay and that nothing bad has happened to him.”
Cockatiels are native to Australia and are the smallest of the cockatoo family. As a caged bird, cockatiels are second in popularity only to the budgerigar.
