Residents donned period attire and took a step back in time in Little Downham.
The village hall was transformed into an ‘Old Tyme Music Hall’ for an afternoon of Victorian music, singing, dance and even comedy.
The local king (Peter Hampson) and Queen (Christine Garner) delighted in the entertainment staged for their benefit and judged the ladies’ fancy hat competition.
Encouraged by the two comperes, Avril Hayter-Smith and Paul Quant, and with musical accompaniment by Pat Brandon, the audience joined in with songs, listened to soloists and watched an authentic Chinese dance in amazement.
The traditional event, organised by the Little Downham Village Hall Committee, ensured a good time was had by all and also raised much-needed cash for the Village Hall Improvement Fund.
